Lisa’s Broken Foot X-Rays

The X-Rays confirmed that Lisa’s fall – from a crawlspace – on Christmas Eve resulted in a nasty fracture of the fifth metatarsal. The doctor tells us it’s commonly referred to as a “Jones Fracture,” more here at Wikipedia.

It’s a bit of a tricky fracture. As you can see in the first X-Ray, there’s a tendon running outside the left ankle that is pulling on the fractured bone – tension in the opposite direction where healing needs to happen. Less clear in the X-Ray is that the fracture occured at a place where there is very little blood supply.
